In Home Euthanasia

In home euthanasia is the most loving final gift of love you can give to your beloved best friend. There is no substitute for the quiet and comfort of the home the animal has shared with you in which to say a final farewell. The service is not inexpensive, and there is the decision of what to do with the body(cremation, burial or disposal by the vet). It is also possible to have the comfort of an understanding friend or grief counselor present for support. Below is my personal experience with a local mobile vet here in south Orange County.

In January 2013 I contacted Dr. Silvia to administer euthanasia to my 24-year old cat who had finally succumbed to old age and was ready to leave. I was so glad I had this done in my Molly’s own home and comfortable surroundings. Despite a busy schedule, Dr. Silvia and her technician were calm, comforting and compassionate. 4 months later to the day my 22-year old tortoise shell cat Coco also succumbed to old age and organ failure. I again called on Dr. Sylvia help my kitty make a peaceful transition. No noisy vets office, slamming doors, barking dogs, loud voices and the smell of fear from other frightened animals in cages for my 2 best animal companions. I am so grateful to Dr. Silvia and her team to make this service possible. I’m now involved in animal hospice and palliative care, and I recommend Dr. Silvia to everyone in need of that final step.
