***Animal Communication with pets who have “crossed over” is a very controversial issue in the pet loss and grief counseling community. Many, if not most, of the clinical professionals dispute its existence or reality. Many others are concerned about the vulnerable emotional state that makes grievers susceptible to con artists and the unscrupulous. It is my personal experience that animal communication and interspecies telepathy IS a reality–it is one of those intuitive abilities we all have but rarely use, and so the ability atrophies until it is reawakened. Within the context of the grief process, it is my professional opinion that attempts by a bereaved owner to communicate with a pet that has recently transitioned may interfere and even stall the grief process, prolonging unnecessary misery and pain. It is best for the bereaver to pass through the final grief stages before initiating contact with an animal communicator.
